Word Has It... There's Only One PERFECT Boss
His Authority Is Above All Others!
Have you ever been at work on a personal call, or sharing a few words about your weekend with another co-worker, or ummm.. doing something non work related - like surfing the net for some personal matter when suddenly someone near you spreads the word in a whispered, "The boss is coming!"...? Or they'll look at you and make their eyeballs shift sideways rather quickly as another way to warn you that "the boss is coming"! Time to put a lid on it! I'm guilty myself. I've been the warn-er and the warn-ee... Take the same scenario above, based on the work place, but now roll it into a spiritual domain. We can indeed spread the word of a different nature under the authority of the boss Himself, Jesus. He is one boss we can't take cover from nor can we be pre-warned of His whereabouts. He knows what we do before we do it anyway. In relating to Jesus as the boss it simply reflects that He is the chief. The commander. The leader. The master. Jesus IS the authority on direction leading to entry into the kingdom of heaven. They returned once more to Jerusalem. As He was walking in the temple precincts the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders approached Him and said to him, "On what authority are you doing these things? Who has given you the power to do them?" Jesus said to them, "I will ask you a question. If you give me an answer, I will tell you on what authority I do the things I do." Mark 12:27-29 Is that not someone in control, or what?! Jesus made no mistake. Not ever. Not in action or words. He meant what He said and said what He meant. He could not be tricked; no one could make Him stumble. No one. When He spoke He took charge of the heart of the matter. His words were often very few - but well chosen. Jesus directed His words in a way that made a person confront their own soul - His words lead a person to examine deeper and beyond physical worldly aspects. Jesus gave the receiver of His conversation an instant REALITY CHECK. Jesus addresses the mind and the spirit together - at all times - always.
From Jesus we learn that just a few words can leave in embedded impact. Be examples to the flock, not lording it over those assigned to you, so that when the chief Shepherd appears you will win for yourselves the unfading crown of glory. Peter 5:3,4
A Mission For Christians... Make The Word Known!
Jesus is coming - all Christians know that. And when our boss comes - Christians and the like had better be ready! We should not absent ourselves from the assembly, as some do, but encourage one another; and this all the more because you see that the Day draws near. Hebrews 10:25 Spreading the word on just about anything that is of specific interest to someone is easy to accomplish. People love to talk - most people do anyway. The proof is in the puddin' these days - there's cell phones stuck against ears of all ages. NO MATTER where you look - a phone is close by - just waiting... With communication becoming so advanced it should be easy for any Christian to slip in God's Word every now and then... right? Think about it, there's e-mail, domestic mail, voice mail, all types of communication systems. Words motivate action! Many Christians have a talent which allows them to talk on just about anything. They are never lost for words. This individual group of Christians are not shy in expressing their aim vocally. They make excellent teachers, ministers, leaders and such. But some Christians, on the other hand, are not quite so verbal. They are just not very comfortable opening up to conversation outside of what is directed straight to them, encouraging a response. Even then, their reply may be brief. For instance, if you ask anyone that knows me - I'm far from quiet. And if anyone should ask my hubby and two boys they'll endorse that. You've probably reached that conclusion if you've visited the other pages of my site... here I go - see what I mean? In moving forward, you may have read my home page or my bible page. I don't mean to be repetitive but I must -Jesus did not surround Himself with twelve knights in shining armor or aristocrats. He surrounded Himself with fishermen. What does that say? To me personally, it means that I don't have to compete for His love, power, compassion, mercy, promises, or all that He is. I don't have to be anyone I'm not nor will it impress Him if I try. He knows me for me and loves me no matter. Can anyone of us stand before Him with MORE than He gives to US? No. It's impossible. So, for that I am grateful. Peter 5:3 tells us to 'be examples to the flock'. Christians are held to their position - no doubt about that. As a Christian more is expected of you than one that is not. People rely on you; children look up to you, there's a security in knowing a Christian. Christians also need other Christians. We are a flock ourselves. We can however, extend ourselves a little further in small ways that produce big results. One way to begin reaching out can actually be fun and rewarding for both the giver and the receiver. I have found this to be a unique way of spreading the word of God - without standing from a pulpit (as mentioned on my home page). Cards with a purpose! They help drive the message!... SIMPLE WAYS TO - USE CARDS TO SPREAD THE WORD WHEN:- You're sending your banking transaction through the teller's drive-up window. OR...
- Leaving a tip for your waitress or waiter at your favorite eatery
- Paying the cashier for your groceries
- Sending a birthday card or any greeting card via domestic mail
- Attach a Witness Card on a gift
- Pack one in the lunch kit of your spouse or children
- Place one in a "thank you" card for the person you're thanking
- Leave a card on the desk of a co-worker
- Give one to your child's babysitter attached to their payment
- Leave one on an empty seat in a public place
- Upon leaving from visiting someone leave a card behind, too!
Be creative! Someone out there needs the word!
HEAD'S UP! (Literally) The Boss Will Be Here Soon!
"There will be signs in the sun, the moon and the stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish, distraught at the roaring of the sea and waves. Men will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the earth. The powers in the heavens will be shaken. After that, men will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with great power and glory. When these things begin to happen, stand erect and hold your heads high, for your deliverance is near at hand." Luke 21:25-28"As for the exact day or hour, no one knows it, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father only." Matthew 24:36 There is no way one can interpret this scripture for other than what it says. It's direct and to the point. Jesus will return. Heads Up! The BOSS is coming!
