The Holy Lands of Jesus

The Holy Lands of Jesus... let's begin in Nazareth.

In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
Luke 1:26,27

The angel went on to say to her: "Do not fear, Mary. You have found favor with God. You shall conceive and bear a son and give Him the name Jesus. Great will be His dignity and He will be called Son of the Most High.
Luke 1:30 -32

Joseph took Mary to Bethlehem in Judea, because Caesar Augustus has ordered a census of the whole world. While Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus. She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger. Due to the city being thick with travelers there were no available rooms.
Luke 2:1-7

Joseph and Mary then brought Jesus to Jerusalem so that He could be presented to the Lord.
Luke2:22

After the they had fulfilled the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, the Holy Family returned back to live in their hometown of Nazareth, a small town of Galilee.
Luke 2:39,40

"Can Anything Good Come From Nazareth?"
John 1:46

This was Nathanael's reply to Philip when Philip tried to tell Nathanael that THE ONE Moses spoke of in the law was present and his name was Jesus, of Nazareth. (John 1:45-46)

Jesus went on to to tell them, "I solemnly assure you, you shall see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man".
John 1:51

This sums up the answer to Nathanael's question about anything good coming from Nazareth!

ONE GRAIN OF SAND

While walking along the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee and should I but step on just one grain of sand that Jesus once stepped on so many years ago, my entire being would be healed of all infirmity - in all ways.
This is the exact thought I carried with me as a child.
I often wondered what it would be like to walk the earth where Jesus of Nazareth walked...

Aside From Heaven...

The Holy Land sparks interest in most Christians - aside from heaven. The difference is heaven, well - we all know that visit is BEYOND the physical mortal realms and we must prepare ourselves for that journey. However, in our mortal journey we can travel beyond our inward being of Christianity and enlighten ourselves further with the life of Jesus by going where He lived, taught, suffered, died, and ascended into heaven!

If it's a broadened spiritual knowledge you seek, independant of everything you know now, then consider a higher dimension! A hands on reality of seeing, feeling, touching, tasting and physically existing for a moment in time... in the lands of our Lord.
THE GROUNDS OF MIRACLES!

Sure, books about the Holy Land are the next best thing besides being there, especially if you love to read. Of course, traveling there, if you're financially able, is a sure way to quench the wonderment of what it's really like... to walk the grounds where Jesus walked! A trip with your family, a group or just by yourself (if you're an independent traveler. This makes for a beautiful trip abroad.
A Christian treasure of memories and a lifetime of spiritual reflections to carry with you always and to share with those less fortunate. Sadly, not everyone can go beyond the wishes of going to the Holy Land. Some folks have individual circumstances that prevail over extensive travel. Yet, it doesn't quench the fire of desire to go. There are many Christians who can only imagine what it would be like to experience first hand the reality of biblical scriptures depicting the life and lands of Jesus(link). In their hearts they travel there, through books they travel there, and through the real life testimonies of Christsians that actually have been there...
Personally, I adore listening to anyone who is willing to share their own unique Holy Land travel experiences with me!

GALILEE
The First Of The Chosen Twelve

As He was walking along the Sea of Galilee He watched two brothers, Simon now known as Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea. They were fishermen. He said to them, "Come after me and I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 4:18,19

WE CAN ALL BE FISHERS OF MEN

Please know that Christians don't have to be intimidated into thinking that they have to have a degree in ministry to spread the word of Jesus Christ, Lord Savior. As mentioned on my home page, Jesus did not surround himself with knights in shining armor or twelve aristocrats - He surrounded himself with fishermen. (I just had to add that on this page again. It's all too important to know that it only takes one spiritual effort from ANY Christian, to possibly touch the heart(s) of those who do not believe and give them a spark of hope in finding Jesus Christ in their lives). Also, keep close in mind and heart that you may be just the one to help rekindle the dwindling faith of one who does believe but just got off the path...

Holy Lands Ignite Curiosity

Have you ever been curios to see the holiest lands in the world? The lands that Jesus himself stood upon? Lands that His feet touched? Just imagine...To look across the waters and terrain where Jesus dwelled and gaze upon the prophecies that unfolded there...

Can you visualize yourself overlooking the very location where this happened?...

Jesus left that place and passed along the Sea of Galilee. He went up onto the mountainside and sat down there.Large crowds of people came to Him bringing with them cripples, the deformed, the blind, the mute, at his feet and he cured them.
Matthew 15:29,30

What about being here? Where this happened?...

Later Jesus, coming from Galilee, appeared before John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. John tried to refuse him with protest, "I should be baptized by you, yet you come to me!" Jesus answered: "Give in for now. We must do this if we would fulfill all of God's demands. So John gave in. After Jesus was baptized, He came directly out of the water. Suddenly the sky opened and He saw the Spirit of God descend like a dove and hover over Him. With that, a voice from the heavens said,"This is my beloved Son. My favor rests on Him."
Matthew 3:13-17

I cannot explain it but I am fascinated by the biblical stories that took place by the Sea of Galilee. I guess everyone has their own individual preference of any one thing - I just seem so drawn to this particular area...

WHAT'S YOURS?

If you could go to the Holy Lands of our Lord - in what land would you start your journey?

There are so many sacred areas it's almost overwhelming to pick a specific - but yet, we all most likely have a favorite indeed!

Settle your thoughts and think a moment...Do you have your own reason(s) for a sacred walk? Do you have your own reason for your own personal Christian pilgrimage? A burning desire to travel to the Holy Lands? If you can afford it and if the interest is there - go!

If you've already had the honor of going to the places where Jesus lived His life - then you are blessed with the a special insight that is beneficial to many aspects of your Christian spiritual journey. If you'd like to return to see more the second or third time around - go!

For those whom never been and cherish the thought of doing so - I pray that God blesses you with the desires of your heart in obtaining your chance - in HIS TIME and by His mercy.Nothing is impossible for God!
